He did so through his Instagram account, where former President Juan Manuel Santos congratulated Joe Biden and assured that it is a world victory.
“The world won, the United States won, Colombia won”Santos wrote, along with a photo in which they pose embracing with Biden in the middle of a pleasant conversation, as the former Colombian president smiles there.
Santos’ message came minutes after Biden, 77, was declared the new president of the United States, as international media reported his victory in the state of Pennsylvania, where he obtained the 20 votes he needed to win.

The networks CNN, NBC News and CBS News declared Biden victorious, after assigning him a decisive advantage in his home state, where Donald Trump was finally defeated, after a vote count that took several days.
With his election, Biden, who will have a teacher as his first lady, sets a precedent as the elected president with the highest number of votes, with a record of more than 74 million people who supported him.
However, Trump has been incredulous at the results and therefore announced legal action to try to stop the Biden phenomenon.
