In an operation carried out in the rural area of Samaniego, Nariño, two alleged perpetrators of the massacre that mourned Colombia on August 15 were captured on Wednesday, October 21. Those named have ties to the ELN and the criminal gang Jaime Obando, authorities said.

Through the stories of the survivors, it was established that the perpetrators were a group of five hooded men who arrived at a farm in the Santa Catalina village, place where on that Saturday night about 50 young people chatted with music and beer.

Later, the hooded men began to shoot indiscriminately, killing eight of them.
According to President Iván Duque, those responsible are Andrés Fernando Moriano, alias Fercho, and Yeiron Alexander Pantoja Rodríguez, whom they know as the ‘Conductor’ or ‘Mono’.

The capture of alias Fercho occurred at 6 in the afternoon of this Wednesday, when police officers identified a suspicious vehicle.
