However, President Iván Duque and the Foreign Ministry assured that, despite this incident, “Colombia’s purpose is to maintain the good level that diplomatic, commercial and cooperation relations with the Russian Federation have traditionally set.”

The expulsion of the two Russian officials occurred on December 8, as confirmed by the director of the state Migration Colombia, Juan Francisco Espinosa, and that they will not be able to return in the short term.
“Given the circumstances in which these two people leave, in the short term they will not be able to return to the country,” he said.
