Roy Barreras makes a fool of himself with alleged complaint about paramilitaries

Roy Barreras committed tremendous mud this Monday by denouncing the alleged presence of paramilitaries in Cali.

In the images several people are seen wearing vests, jeans and carrying weapons near a Police station in the Manuela Beltrán neighborhood.

“Is this what you call ‘fifth generation wars’ against unarmed civilians? What does this have to do with the ‘decree for the prevention of terrorism’ that the government is preparing? Are they not doing the same as Maduro with his ‘armed groups’? “ said Senator Barreras.

It was the same producer of the short film ‘Between rhymes and lead’ who came out to clarify that it is a filming with prop weapons. Also, Guillermo Londoño, undersecretary of Security of the capital of Valle del Cauca, spoke.

Community leader Cristian González, who lives in the Manuela Beltrán neighborhood, also pointed out that “What he says is false, it is a series that is being recorded, it is being done with young people who are rehabilitating, young people who are looking for a better future.”

The audiovisual project works under the slogan “the idea is to change street for art.” Here is one of the advances.

Given the mistake he had made, this was Roy Barreras’ response: “Now they give me two different ‘versions’. Local journalists are told by police sources that “the weapons are paintball.” And to other communicators who are recording a TV series. Confusing versions. For what? To intimidate? to threaten? For … militarism?

In social networks, many questioned that he did not rectify the false information.
