The mayor of Bogotá Claudia López, announced that the district prepares a series of measures for cyclists who generally travel the road to Verjón. The local president insisted that this will go hand in hand with the Mayor of Choachí.
Thus, it will be proposed to establish schedules during the week and weekends, to avoid congestion with the vehicles that also move through the area. “We are going to propose to the Mayor of Choachí to establish hours in Bogotá from 4 am to 11 am, between Thursday and Sunday”, said the mayor.

“Where we close the road exclusively for cyclists and after 11 am onwards for cars. Since it is a narrow track. As is the one in Patios (…) there are 11 kilometers of road that connect the Verjón Alto with the Verjón Bajo, but there are 3 kilometers completely destroyed, ”said López.
