Report three new deaths from Covid-19 in the Valley, cases amount to 1415

Two patients in Cali and one in Buenaventura lost their lives due to complications derived from Covid-19, the Ministry of Health and Social Protection reported on Tuesday.

This is a 67-year-old man, who suffered from chronic kidney failure, and a 48-year-old woman, who had pulmonary hypertension, high blood pressure, heart failure, chronic pulmonary thromboembolism, cardiorenal syndrome, and severe protein malnutrition as comorbidities. These two people died in the Valle de Cauca capital, while in Buenaventura the death of a 74-year-old man occurred, with high blood pressure and smoking as pre-existing diseases.

According to the Minsalud report, the other 11 deceased were registered in Bogotá, Tumaco, Cartagena and Soledad, in the Atlántico department.

Coronavirus cases in the country totaled 12,272 with the 659 new diagnoses reported by Minsalud on Tuesday, the highest daily number reported so far. These patients are found in Bogotá (258), Cartagena (79), Atlántico (64), Valle (48), Barranquilla (38), Nariño (32), Amazonas (25), Cundinamarca (19), Magdalena (19), San Andrés (15), Meta (9), Antioquia (7), Chocó (7), Huila (6), Santa Marta (5), Norte de Santander (5), Caldas (4), Tolima (3), Bolívar (3), Córdoba (3), Boyacá (2), Cauca (2), Vaupés (2), Caquetá (1), Putumayo (1), La Guajira (1) and Arauca (1).

In Valle del Cauca the number of positives also rose, reaching the figure of 1,415. In the country, Bogotá remains the territory with the highest number of cases with 4,563, followed by Valle, Atlántico (1,124), Meta (935) , Bolívar (824) and Amazonas (743).

The number of deaths from the coronavirus in Colombia is 493 and those recovered already number 2971.

The situation of the coronavirus worldwide is 4,137,193 infected, 285,760 deceased and 1,482,930 recovered.
