Parents and students reported failures in the implementation of biosafety protocols upon entering to the headquarters of the Metropolitan University of Barranquilla, one of the points chosen to carry out the Saber 11 tests for calendar B schools.
Through the Wasapea line to EL HERALDO, they stated that “There was chaos and despair” due to the lack of accompaniment when arriving at the site. They also indicated that admission could only be possible one hour after what was stated in the summons.
“There were biosecurity protocols inside the university, but outside there were crowds and there was no social distancing”explained one of the parents.
Through its social networks, the Colombian Institute for the Evaluation of Education (Icfes) stated that in each of the 7,267 classrooms a series of provisions have been arranged “with all the biosecurity measures for the correct development of the test” .
For its part, The Barranquilla Secretariat of Education indicated that the logistics and biosafety measures implemented in the application sites have been in charge of Icfes. In addition, he stated that there were “difficulties” in the aforementioned point but the situation was immediately addressed by the operator of said entity.
He also stated that the support to the day continues so that the necessary corrections are carried out, in the case of new agglomerations.
In total, 2,864 students in Barranquilla are taking the tests today in nine application points.
