The death of lawyer Javier Ordoñez, after a police procedure in which he was subjected to excessive taser shocks, unleashed a wave of demonstrations in Colombia.

Since last Wednesday – the day of Ordoñez’s death – people took to the streets to speak out on the case in order to demand justice. As a result, a ‘night of terror’ was experienced in Bogotá and in other cities after the burning of several Police CAIs – Ordoñez, apparently, would have received more blows in one of these – and the vandalization of TransMilenio buses, some shops and ATMs.

Despite this, the video of the moment of Ordoñez’s arrest continues to turn around on social networks and has outraged internationally. The brutality applied against the deceased lawyer did not go unnoticed by celebrities, musicians and artists.

One of them was ‘René’ Residente, a singer who, upon seeing the video, decided to speak out through his social networks.

In the afternoon of this Thursday, and while the unrest increased in various parts of the country, Residente published a message on his Twitter account recalling that, Like Ordoñez, his friend Cristofer died due to police brutality.

“My best friend Cristofer was killed by the police. Let the fight continue on behalf of all the murders committed under abuse of power. Justice for Javier Ordoñez. Always with Colombia ”, he published.

Residente emphasized, just as protesters throughout the country have done these days, in the search for justice so that this disastrous episode does not happen again.

These guards have to go to prison and the Government has to do something about it (…) This cannot happen, this is about human rights ”, he said, adding that“ they have my support for whatever it is ”.

Of course: Rene assured that “I see people upset with the protesters, they (…) I invite them to put themselves in the place of the family of the person they killed. Let her think that it was her son or her father who was killed, let’s see how they will react ”.

If you do not want to demonstrate, do not criticize those who demonstrate“, I note.

Various personalities of the show have spoken out regarding the murder of Ordoñez and the disturbances caused during the protests, demanding justice for his memory.

He said ‘please’ so many times while the police knew that they were being recorded and ended up with Javier Ordóñez’s life without mercy, what about these policemen?”, Published J Balvin.

Adriana Lucía assured, through the same social network, that “there are many videos and clear accounts of police officers acting in a gang attacking civilians”, an argument that Goyo, singer of ChocQuibTown, seconded, publishing: “Investigation? We are all seeing it. The police are killing point-blank range ”.
