During the dialogue table established by the Ombudsman’s Office in order to find a solution to the stoppage of truck drivers in the city, representatives of the Road Concession agreed to study the proposal made by the union, which consists of lifting the talanqueras for all heavy load transporters at the Manga and Ceballos tolls, where buses, taxis and private vehicles are also exempt from payment. “After so much negotiating and submitting proposals, they, the Mayor’s Office and we, have reached an agreement by presenting a reasonable proposal to the Concession, which was to build Ceballos and Manga talanqueras for the group of heavy cargo transporters for two months with option to sit down to negotiate rates, but that will come at another time, “said Damaris Díaz, representative of the truckers.

The attorney for the Road Concession, José Julio Orozco indicated that he would analyze the proposal with the shareholders and that he would give an answer in the next few hours.

“If it is accepted and an agreement is reached, I have asked the Vice Defender of the People to guarantee it with his signature and I invite the mayor that if we promote the agreement to be a signatory if he considers it,” he said.

Given this, the president of Cartagena, William Dau, said that he would not sign agreements that serve to validate the contract, but that he would ask for a document as mayor and as responsible for safeguarding security in the city.

The Concession is expected to give an answer today at 3 in the afternoon.
