A heavy downpour, including hailstorms, was recorded in several areas of Bogotá this Tuesday afternoon. However, neither the road authorities nor the Fire Department still report emergencies such as floods.
In social networks, citizens have published images in which the streets are covered with hail and puddles.
Although the downpour was not very long, it was accompanied by hail. This would not have been registered in the whole city, but in some sectors.
In areas such as La Serena, in the town of Engativá, in the northeast of the city, citizens reported that their parks and roads are covered with a layer of hail.

According to Bogotá’s alert system, heavy rain was felt in much of the city. The District Institute for Risk Management and Climate Change recommended that drivers travel with caution and recalled that rain “can reduce visibility and wet floors affect braking capacity.”
