According to César García, the rain that was registered in the capital of Santander since the early hours of the morning of this Friday, October 30, caused minor damage in some areas of the city.

“There are clogs due to collapse in the sewers on the Chimitá road, some land displacement to the North of Bucaramanga and the Palonegro Airport is closed. However, despite the magnitude of the rain, there was no major damage, “said the official.

Due to landslides, the passage to the Playón from Bucaramanga is restricted at kilometer 24, while machinery removes the debris.

The authorities are working on the total enabling of total vehicular traffic in several sections of the Pamplona -Bucaramanga highway, hampered by landslides caused by the rains.

According to information provided by the Autovía concessionaire, “there is a drop in material on PR 3 + 0400, PR 9 + 0300, ascent road and PR 34 + 0800; sites where we have traffic control and clearance personnel ”.

García assured that last night’s rainfall is part of the new rainy season that Santander will experience until the end of the year. “According to Ideam, the increase in rainfall is 70% above the historical rainfall in the department of Santander ”, he commented.
