An Avianca plane was hit by this device while landing at the Bogotá airport. Fortunately, the incident did not cause injuries to the passengers or damage to the aircraft.
A pyrotechnic balloon caused an alarm on the night of December 31 at El Dorado airport after it collided with an Avianca plane that was landing at the air terminal.
According to the Civil Aeronautics, the passengers did not suffer any damage during this incident which, fortunately, did not affect the plane or the airport either.

Through a statement, Aerocivil assured that an investigation into this fact has already been opened. In recent days, the entity had already asked citizens to refrain from using gunpowder in the vicinity of airports due to the dangerous consequences it can have on air operations and the safety of thousands of passengers.
The affected Avianca flight came from Orlando, Florida (USA) and, according to reports from the authorities, there was no damage to the aircraft after an inspection by the fire department that is present in El Dorado.
