Protests and mobilizations in Bogotá | CAI Villa Luz attacked for the death of Javier Ordóñez – Investigation – Justice

[ad_1]

Although peaceful protests had been called for this Wednesday, in the afternoon several people gathered who began to attack the CAI of Villa Luz, in Engativá, with stones and other elements, and against the CTI unit of the Prosecutor’s Office that they came to investigate in the place what had happened to the lawyer Javier Ordóñez.

By 6 pm this Wednesday, citizens outraged by the police abuse that ended in the death of lawyer Javier Ordóñez were calling for a day of peaceful protest against these acts committed by members of the Public Force.

However, the place where it was intended to make a candle ended up turned into a battlefield between protesters and the Police.

The protesters are, for the most part, young people with partially covered faces, who attacked the CAI with forceful elements, among these stones.

Although residents of the area rejected the acts of violence, they reaffirmed their outrage at the police abuse that occurred early Wednesday morning.

Through social networks they called for a candle to be held around the CAI of Villa Luz, in the town of Engativá, where the events that led to the death of the lawyer occurred at dawn.

Ordóñez’s family and friends have said that they will not remain still in the face of what happened and demand justice for the death of man, who received a dozen electric shocks with a ‘taser’ gun in the middle of a judicial proceeding.

“We cannot continue to endure abuses of authority. Those who should take care of us are #NosEstánMatando,” says the convocation.

Likewise, citizens are calling to protest in other CAIs, both in Bogotá and in other cities of the country. The call is to make a casserole so much in public squares such as in front of the Police facilities, so that this case does not go unpunished.

The organizers have insisted that those who want to participate in the protest days to follow the biosecurity protocols wear masks and maintain social distancing in the acts they attend.

This call recalls the tributes that citizens have also made in other cases that have also aroused indignation and of which Judicial determinations are also awaited, such as the murder of the young Dilan Cruz in November of last year in the framework of the national strike.
