On the afternoon of this Wednesday, September 9, dozens of people came out to protest near the facilities of the Metropolitan Police command of the Valle de Aburrá, in the center of Medellín.

The citizens reflected their indignation and rejection of the death of the lawyer Javier Ordónez, who died after a case of police abuse at dawn this Thursday in the town of Engativá, in Bogotá.

According to Brigadier General Eliércer Camacho, commander of the Metropolitan Police, more than 50 people attacked the Command, located on Avenida Oriental.
“What we do want is to make a call to the community to sanity. In the afternoon, more than 50 people in front of the command began with harangues claiming for the excessive use of force, but later when they saw that there was no intervention judicial, increase their vandalism activities, “said Camacho.
According to Camacho, the protesters broke the Commando fences, some doors and threw fuel at it to try to set it on fire and enter, as captured by the security cameras.

The Medellín authorities reported that an Esmad squad and uniformed personnel located at the site controlled the situation and the damage to this building was being assessed. In a preventive manner, the closure of a section of Avenida Oriental was ordered.
For now, there are no captured by these events.
“We only used the anti-riot group to withdraw these people and be the object of an income, and that would have been more difficult since there we even have weapons provided by the police and that this could not be allowed to be taken,” he explained. Camacho.
