In a letter addressed to the director in charge of the Police, General Gustavo Moreno, the Public Ministry asks him for information on particular issues, data that must be sent within three business days.

The first thing that the control body asks for is the list of new ammunition and / or firearms and non-lethal ones used by police officers during the protests on September 9 and 10 in different parts of the country.
This information, indicated the Attorney General’s Office, should “allow each official who reported ammunition spending to be identified and individualized, the place where he provided his services at the time he made use of the arms and ammunition, the amount of it or other elements used. , the identification of the weapon that fired it and the corresponding explanation reported by each server who made use of them. “
For this, copies of the reports that have already been submitted to the uniformed must be sent explaining the circumstances in which they used their weapons and ammunition.

Copies of the reports submitted by members of the Police were also requested in which the theft and / or damage of assets and / or
police facilities and / or injured officials.

Similarly, the director (e) of the Police must report the facts that the institution already has documented “in which members of the police institution or individuals are involved, due to the use of firearms in development of the disturbances (. ..) and the actions that are being carried out “.
It was also asked to explain “which individuals and / or personnel of the institution in civilian clothes could intervene in the development of the disturbances using firearms, identify them and know the police unit to which they belong and the service they performed. “
In the documented cases, it was required to send copies of the images and videos, copies of the radio recordings and other institutional communication media related to the events.

The Prosecutor’s Office also requested that copies and / or supports of the instructions, guidelines or institutional orders issued by the General Directorate of the Police and the different commands assigned to the places where the events occurred, “on the behavior that the members of the Police should have to attend to the protests and the violent events of which the offices and personnel of that Institution were subjected.”

These requirements of the Attorney General’s Office to the Police are in addition to those that the Public Ministry made this Thursday to the Ministry of Defense, from which it asked several explanations for the actions of the police during the protests.
