The Attorney General of the Nation, Francisco Barbosa, appointed in the last hours the specialized prosecutor to investigate the events that occurred around the trip to Cuba of Nicolás Rodríguez Bautista, alias Gabino, during the Santos government. This is the prosecutor Daniel Hernández, coordinator of prosecutors of the CTI, who already has in his office the complaint that the Peace Commissioner Miguel Ceballos made in September 2018.

In the next few days, prosecutor Hernández will initiate the different judicial proceedings to try to clarify why the head of the ELN left the country for the island with several arrest warrants against him and two red circulars from Interpol in force.

The investigators are investigating whether the protagonists of this story could have incurred in the crimes of procedural fraud, falsification of a public document, constraint to commit a crime and prevarication by action. In the next few days it will be known if the prosecution certifies copies to the prosecution commission to decide whether to investigate former president Juan Manuel Santos for these trips that Gabino was able to make, even though he was not a negotiator at the dialogue table.
