The Office of the Attorney General of the Nation managed to identify and locate the alleged perpetrator of a criminal act that left four people dead and an 8-month-old baby injured, in the La Fachada neighborhood of Armenia (Quindío), this December 16.
Five hours after the crime was known, the suspect was captured in Pereira (Risaralda), when he apparently intended to leave the city for Medellín (Antioquia). It is alias El Paisa, to whom the Prosecutor’s Office will charge charges of aggravated homicide, illegal possession of weapons and escape of prisoners, before a judge of control of guarantees.
“These crimes disgust and outrage the Colombian people. This person was captured by our Territorial Itinerant Group, which is part of the entire strategy that has been created for each territory of the country. He was captured at the Matecaña Airport in the city of Pereira, where that person was found with a silencer, a supplier and traces of the crime committed, ”said the prosecutor Francisco Barbosa Delgado.
According to the investigations, this man was deprived of liberty and would have taken advantage of a special permit granted by the Penitentiary and Prison Institute (Inpec) to carry out the homicide.
“This person was convicted of a homicide and this fact occurred within 72 hours of a permit that was given to him by the prison authority. The Office of the Attorney General of the Nation takes care of citizens, investigates properly and speaks with results to the country, ”revealed the Attorney General.
