This March 8, International Women’s Day is commemorated and the National Police of Colombia wanted to pay tribute to them, although it did not go as expected.
Members of this Public Force made an adaptation of the song ‘Mujeres’, made world famous by Ricardo Arjona. In addition to their performance, they made a video clip in which they give flowers to different women in various areas of Bogotá.
In this video some police officers appear, although the males have more prominence than they do. However, with their gifts they made other Colombians happy in the streets.
Nevertheless, that ‘detail’ did not turn out as expected because the honorees rejected vehemently use this song to celebrate a day like today.
Other people also took the opportunity to recall some newspaper articles in which members of the Police have attacked women, in fact, a few days ago a police officer was killed by a military man in Tolima. Overall, there was much more criticism than support.
These are some of the opinions on the gift of the National Police that the Colombians did not like:
That video of the Police where they sing a cover of Arjona and give flowers to women in the street. I’m not going to replicate it.

The same police who rape you, torture you and beat you, sing to you women, by Ricardo Arjona, thanks, but, no thanks.

It is not even 9AM and the Police have already won the competition to see who gets the most regrettable message of 8M. https://t.co/CVT3xafSFm

I leave you this graph with official figures from last year.
The presence of women in the Police is very little and the higher the positions, the fewer women.
Much singing and flower delivery but little equality within the same institution. pic.twitter.com/E8y4BgOhy1
