Before the 29th criminal judge for control of guarantees, the hearing to legalize the capture of ex-patrolmen Harby Ramírez Díaz and Juan Camilo Lloreda Cubillos linked to the murder of law student Javier Ordóñez on September 9 was held from Friday until early Saturday in the town of Engativá, northwest of Bogotá.

The charge was scheduled for 10 a.m., however, it was delayed due to connection problems. Finally, the Prosecutor’s Office requested that the procedure be reserved on the grounds that it could jeopardize the investigation. This was supported by the Attorney General’s Office and the attorneys for victims and defendants.
“Therefore, the head of the office acceded to the petition every time just cause was found, to the extent that the events are recent, the Prosecutor’s Office is still collecting material evidence and in the subsequent proceedings a discovery will be made evidence, which may compromise the success of the investigation ”.
During the hearing, the prosecuting body charged the two patrolmen as co-perpetrators of the punishable conduct of aggravated homicide and aggravated torture. The defendants did not accept the charges imposed and the defense raised a conflict of jurisdiction.

The diligence is being advanced after a Bogotá guarantee judge issued an arrest warrant against the patrollers on Thursday for their alleged responsibility in the death of engineer and law student Javier Ordóñez.
