Passion is red! América de Cali qualified for the grand final and is excited about the fifteenth star

América achieved a decisive step towards its second consecutive title in Colombian soccer, qualifying for the League final thanks to its undeniable victory this Sunday over Junior, 2-1.

Luis Sánchez, with a great game, and Adrián Ramos, also with a notable contribution in the Metropolitan, sealed the red victory, while Miguel Ángel Borja discounted for the club.

Now the reds will face each other in the final against Independiente Santa Fe, in the duel that the star of the atypical tournament that had to be played due to the pandemic will deliver.

In the first half, America was far superior to Junior. He put conditions, he played in the local field, he enjoyed many opportunities and he went to rest winning 2-0 in all fairness.

At 8 minutes the red box warned with a great play by Luis Sánchez, who avoided rivals and finished off with his left foot, but Sebastián Viera drowned out the goal cry.

At 21, Adrián Ramos lost him after a center from Santiago Moreno.

The charge was made by Adrián Ramos, strong and in the center, achieving a just 2-0 for the devils in the first half.

In the second period, the Junior came out more determined, turning with everything to American grounds, attacking on the wings and using the ball as another arrival formula.

Unfortunately for the sharks, the VAR annulled two goals, Borja’s at 48 minutes, and Gabriel Fuentes’s at 54.

Even so Junior rushed and achieved the discount with Borja at 70, reviving the hope of reaching the tie and forcing the definition from the penalty spot.

But America took precautions, defended itself with everything and maintained the 2-1 that gives it the ticket to play the great final of the League.
