This week there was a lot of talk about child abuse, after Congress prohibited physical punishment against minors in the country. The news did not go unnoticed in the national territory and continues to generate controversy, especially because the flip-flop or strap were allies of millions of parents for many years when they reprimanded their children for bad behavior.
Senator Paloma Valencia decided to speak about it in a virtual chat to which she was invited. In that space, the congresswoman from the Democratic Center was against children being punished with physical violence.
Most striking of all is that his daughter Amapola was near the computer and launched a curious comment that is amusing thousands of users on social networks.
Valencia was arguing his position against child abuse, assuring: “Whoever wants to continue beating (his son), may well hit him. I would invite you to consider different forms of education, respectful of the child, that generate in them values and convictions around what is right and wrong, and not simply obeying the rules because we are afraid of being beaten ”.
Suddenly, Poppy, only 4 years old, exclaimed from the room where the senator was: “Then why are you hitting me?” The congresswoman saw her quickly and replied: “I don’t hit you.”
The recording of that moment went viral in the last hours, amusing thousands of people because of the way in which Valencia’s daughter refuted the argument that her mother was giving live. It is not the first time that Amapola has become a topic of national conversation due to her occurrences during the virtual sessions that her mother has had to face in the last year. In July of last year, the little girl yelled at the senator that she hated her, because she was not paying attention to her while a session of Congress was taking place.
This is the funny video of the situation that the congresswoman from the Democratic Center and her daughter staged:
