After a shower of criticism and offenses fell on Senator Angélica Lozano (Alianza Verde) –especially on social networks– for having complimented the legislative work of Paloma Valencia (Centro Democrático), the parliamentarian defended her.

The episode started after an interview on Snail News, in which Lozano defended Congress by explaining that not everything was bad and that there were legislators who deserved to be highlighted.
In the dialogue, she was asked to specify in which right-wing parties there were legislators that in her opinion she could mention, and she said:
“Paloma Valencia, in the Democratic Center. Look, last week, in that Electoral Code, she managed to get a little article to prosper so that, for national security, direct hiring cannot be done. We all have to be accompanying that it is achieved.”

But it was not the only mention. In the talk, he also referred to David Barguil (Conservative Party) and Luis Fernando Velasco and Carlos Ardila (Liberal Party).
After that, Lozano’s political opponents edited the interview and only left the fragment of Valencia. And from that moment it became a trend. Not only did they express their displeasure, but several users were dedicated to insulting her.
Given that, Senator Paloma Valencia thanked her colleague for the comment he made in the interview and assured that it was “The level of hatred that some sectarians harbor is impressive.” In addition, he noted that “there are valuable people across the political spectrum.”
