In the recording, Juan Pablo Escobar, the son of the Medellín cartel boss, appears, assuring that his father ordered the killing of former President Álvaro Uribe Vélez, then director of Aerónáutica Cívil.
The video arises from an interview that journalist María Jimena Duzán did approximately 6 years ago with Escobar’s son. In it, he assures that the Olaya Herrera airport, in Antioquia, was a great party because the capos came and went and even elephants and hippos got in, after the closing time of that air terminal.
Given this, relates the son of the capo, Álvaro Uribe began to increase controls at that airport and that’s when he becomes Escobar’s target.
“I found this out with people who were close to my father and knew of the order that (Pablo Escobar) had given to kill Álvaro Uribe,” said Juan Pablo Escobar in that interview, which is still valid in Colombia.
The boss’s son preferred in that space not to compare if his father offered more to kill Uribe or Luis Carlos Galán.
“One cannot enter to judge the level of importance of the characters or the level of threat they represented to my father’s life or my father’s activity,” Escobar said.
