Three members of a family were massacred in a rural area of ​​the municipality of Tierralta, Alto Sinú, in the department of Córdoba.

The events were known on Friday by the authorities, and the event generated outrage among the residents, as it is argued that this family was very dear to the residents of the area.

Once the municipal authorities arrived at the scene, they managed to identify the victims as Onilda Díaz Urango, 65, and a community leader; her husband Tomás Correa Mendoza, 54, and her daughter Luisa Fernanda Correa Díaz, 24.

They indicated that the woman was a member of the Community Action Board of the village of Llanos del Tigre, rural area of ​​Tierralta, and a member of the social and political movement Marcha Patriótica and the National Association of Campesino Reserves.

The incident occurred in the villages of Lorenzo and El Banquito. First they murdered the couple, who were also a member of the Alto Sinú Peasant Association. A few minutes later they killed the young woman.

The upper Sinú community called on the authorities to take measures in those populations where there is an evident presence of groups outside the law, especially support networks of criminal gangs.

For his part, the mayor of Tierralta, Daniel Moreno, said that preliminary inquiries are being made in order to establish the motives for the violent act that occurred just 15 minutes from the town’s urban center. Yesterday, at the close of this edition, a security council was held with the participation of all local and departmental authorities.

Finally, the Cordoberxia Human Rights Foundation indicated in a statement to public opinion that it condemns these events and calls on the National Government to dismantle the paramilitaries and their successor gangs.
