The Communications Regulation Commission (CRC) put an end to the controversy between Wom and Claro, Tigo and Une, given the obstacles that the new operator had encountered to interconnect the networks of these three operators.

In session this Monday, December 28, the CRC ruled in favor of Wom, applying the current regulation, for which the operators Comcel, Tigo and Une are obliged to allow access to their networks by the new agent to Partners Telecom Colombia, without these conditions being extended to another provider that has the same shareholder and that has been in the market for some time, such as Avantel SAS.
Thus, the CRC had a series of technical rules that allow the identification of traffic in the event of the technological integration of the WOM networks and the AVANTEL networks, for which it also had the figure of a Technical Supervisor to that, accompany the implementation of said technical rules.
“The decisions contained in the issued resolutions will be the basis for Partners Telecom Colombia to materialize access, use and interconnection relationships with Comcel, Tigo and Une, for which the parties must comply with the defined schedule,” the authority explained.
Likewise, he indicated that it will be up to the operators to carry out, in good faith and in pursuit of competition, the activities aimed at the prompt implementation of the relationship of access, use and interconnection under the guidelines defined by the regulator.
Finally, it will now be the mission of the Directorate of Inspection, Surveillance and Control of the Ministry of Information Technologies and Communications (MinTic) to be aware of the activities associated with the implementation of the relationship of access, use and interconnection, so that, As the supervisory authority, monitor compliance with the particular regulatory decisions adopted by the CRC.
