One deceased and 85 new cases of Covid-19 in Barranquilla

Colombia reached 607,938 infections this Sunday, with 8,024 new cases.

As for deaths, 300 cases were reported, but only 20 belong to this August 30, 280 are from previous days.

In the Atlantic, 8 deaths were registered, 4 of them in Soledad while Usiacurí, Malambo, Baranoa and Barrnquilla had one deceased.

As for infections, the numbers continue to drop as the department had 136, 85 of them in the capital.

In the rest of the country, Bogotá, with 1,846 new infections, continues to be the main focus of the pandemic, a city that was followed this Sunday in number by the departments of Antioquia (845), Cundinamarca (597), Cesar (501), Santander and Valle del Cauca (both with 463); Norte de Santander (335), Meta (322), Córdoba (291), Huila (269) and Cauca (264).

There were also infected in Tolima (223), Magdalena (179), Nariño (176), Atlántico and Caquetá (136), Bolívar (135), Quindío (131), La Guajira (127), Sucre (118) and Risaralda (114 ), among others.

By regions, the one that accumulates the most cases, with 209,250, is Bogotá, a city in which thousands of people went to parks and bike paths this Sunday on the first day of reopening of public spaces after more than five months closed by quarantine to mitigate the spread of the coronavirus.

After Bogotá in accumulated number of infected are Antioquia, with 79,784; Atlántico (64,007), Valle del Cauca (46,549), Bolívar (25,147), Cundinamarca (22,772), Córdoba (19,568), Santander (17,773), Nariño (13,990), Magdalena (12,289), Sucre (11,624) and Norte de Santander (11,608).

Of the 300 deaths of the day, the largest number was registered in Bogotá, with 65, followed by the departments Valle del Cauca (33), Santander (29), Antioquia (24), Norte de Santander (21), Córdoba (20 ) and Cesar (18).

In Cundinamarca there were 13 deaths, while Magdalena had 11; Nariño (10), Huila (9), Atlántico (8), Sucre (7), Meta (6), Tolima, Caldas, Quindío and Risaralda (four each), Cauca (3), Boyacá and Bolívar (2), while in La Guajira, Putumayo and Caquetá a death was reported.

On this day, 30,236 samples were processed, of which 26,879 were PCR and 3,357 antigen, for a total of 2.7 million tests carried out in the country since last March throughout the country.
