The Criminal Court of the Specialized Circuit of Manizales (Caldas) sentenced 40-year-old Jhon Fredy Serna Gallego to 35 years in prison.
Serna Gallego was found responsible for the crimes of aggravated crime conspiracy, manufacture, trafficking, possession or possession of firearms, accessories, parts or ammunition, aggravated extortion, aggravated homicide in homogeneous competition and attempted murder.
According to the investigation, the convicted man was, between May 24, 2010 and September 10, 2014, leader of the criminal organization called Los Sandalios, dedicated to the planning and execution of homicides in the form of hitmen in Chinchiná (Caldas).
The Prosecutor’s Office pointed out that, through judicial police work, such as interviews, autopsies, corpse inspection and interviews, among others, it was evidenced that the convict was involved in 35 murders; 33 men and 2 women. In addition to two attempted homicides, as well as extortion of three people.
“… I sent her to kill her because I had a discussion on my cell phone where she told me that I could not pay the agreed days and I was delayed in delivering the installments. For that situation, I sent her to be killed, and paid 700,000 thousand pesos… ”, this is one of the stories delivered by Serna in the framework of the investigation.

The man accepted the charges brought by the Prosecutor’s Office and managed to reduce his sentence. The sentenced person is already deprived of liberty in the Girón prison, for another crime.
In addition, on November 11, 2014, the accusing body added 11 homicides to its accusation, which were also accepted by Serna. One more accusation was made on January 20 of this year, this time as the author of one more aggravated homicide.
The pre-agreement signed, and because it recognized its responsibility in the crimes charged, allow for the sentenced person a reduction of sentence. Thus, in the end, the prison sentence was set at 35 years, as well as the payment of a fine equivalent to 500 legal monthly minimum wages in force.
