Three Paris Saint-Germain players tested positive for coronavirus, The club confirmed this Wednesday, and they will initially miss the defending champion’s first game in Ligue 1 this season, against Lens, on September 10.

“Three PSG players were confirmed as positive in the Sars-CoV-2 test and were subjected to the appropriate sanitary protocol. All the players and the coaching staff will continue to be tested in the coming days,” the Parisian club wrote on Twitter, without specifying the identity of the three infected.

However, the French newspaper The team ensures that one of the positives is the Brazilian Neymar.

PSG announced on Monday the quarantine of two of its players, Ángel Di María and Leandro Paredes, according to the newspaper The team, after both were identified as “suspected cases”.

A third, identified as a “contact case”, was also placed in isolation as a precautionary measure.

The affected players were on vacation on the Mediterranean island of Ibiza. According to the sanitary protocol of the Liga de Fútbol Profesional (LFP) currently in force, players who tested positive must remain in quarantine for 14 days.
