An earthquake that had as its epicenter the town of Genoy, in the rural area of the municipality of Pasto, was registered at 8:03 in the morning of this holiday Tuesday, but without causing material damage or human victims.
According to the Colombian Geological Service, the earthquake had a magnitude of 3.4 degrees on the Richter scale, with a depth of 7 kilometers, in the area of influence of the Galeras volcano.

The movement was felt in almost the entire area of influence of the volcanic massif.
In Pasto in some neighborhoods near Galeras, such as Tamasagra, Sumatambo, Altamira, Pandiaco, Figueroa, La Colina and in other townships such as Mapachico and Anganoy its inhabitants were scared after the earthquake occurred.
Similarly, in municipalities such as Consacá, Sandoná and Nariño, located west of Nariño and in the area of greatest influence, some residents said they felt it very strongly.

The authorities and relief agencies reported that after a first sweep, there were fortunately no major news.
