A man in street condition saved two 2 and 4-year-old brothers who he found when they wandered down a lonely street in Ibagué, Tolima.
The event captured the attention of the city, since it happened at 2 in the morning of the holiday Monday in the Uribe Uribe neighborhood, an area of strata 1 and 2 where children walked aimlessly.

Upon seeing them, the street dweller was surprised, “because at that time of the morning they were walking alone and were wet and barefoot.”
“It was a girl who was holding her 2-year-old brother by the hand and my reaction was to help them, protect them so that nothing happened to them”said the man, a young man named Jhon.

The mother left them abandoned at home for going out to drink, that is an act of irresponsibility
“The mother left them abandoned in the house to go to drink, that is an act of irresponsibility,” added Jhon, who took them from their hands and took them to a CAI “because on the street they were in great danger.”
Immediately, the patrols proceeded to visit the Uribe Uribe neighborhood to try to find the parents. On the long journey, they found the door of a house open, but despite knocking and inquiring, no one answered them or answered their calls.
“The children were taken to the permanent police station on duty in order to guarantee their rights”said Lieutenant Alexandra Toro, Chief of Children and Adolescents of the Police in Ibagué, who added that they were under the protection of a substitute home from the Colombian Institute of Family Welfare.

Everything did not stop there, because one day after the events the children’s father appeared, who pointed out that he does not live with his partner and therefore they are in the mother’s care.
“The mother went partying and left them alone”The father of the family pointed out, adding that he was with his children until 11 pm that Monday.
Now, the father advances the procedures to achieve the return of the children.
