The Regional Autonomous Corporation of Valle del Cauca (CVC) condemned this Thursday the brutal case of animal abuse against a possum committed by young people, apparently, in a rural area of the department.

On video it was recorded when a young man ties a possum by its limbs and hangs it on poles. Subsequently, the attacker hits the animal with his footwear.
In the video fragment it is evident when the young people make fun of the animal that they repeatedly beat, continuing with the act of torture, which has been denounced through social networks.

Marco Antonio Suárez Gutiérrez, director of the CVC, stated that the case was carried out in the Pacific, so they are trying to locate those responsible for the case, with the aim of prosecuting them for animal abuse.
“I have instructed my technicians in Buenaventura and in the entire department of Valle to investigate where this happened. We cannot allow our fauna to affect us in this way. This is torture and is a criminal offense,” said the official.

The official was emphatic in classifying the case as torture, so he insisted that it is “willing to go to the last instances to prosecute these young people who attack wildlife. “
