In the midst of a broad consensus of all parties, including the opposition, the plenary of the House of Representatives approved the entire article of the reform of the National Electoral Code, with which the electoral norms of Colombia that were in force since the year 1986.

Among the bad issues of the reform, according to the representative, was the increase in bureaucracy in the Registrar’s Office to appoint registrars (more than a thousand in the country), the elimination of the registry of contributors and suppliers and the discretion of the registrar to determine the implementation of electronic voting.
