These new patients were found thanks to the 42,544 samples that were processed in the last hours in the country’s laboratories. 28,407 of them were for PCR and 14,137 for Antigen.

With these infections, Colombia reached 841,531 COVID-19 cases, of which 26,397 have died and 753,953 have recovered. This leads to 59,342 active cases in the national territory, more than the day before when there were 55,640.

This is the 210th day since the virus arrived in the country and has spread to 1,457 sources of contagion.

Deaths from coronavirus in Colombia today, October 2:

Colombia closed the week with 201 new victims of the pandemic, although 171 of them died in previous days to this Friday (85 in September and 116 so far in October).

The capital was the one that lost the most patients with 32, also followed by Antioquia in this regard with 24 deaths. Then there are Cesar (22), Valle del Cauca (20), Santander (17), Tolima and Cundinamarca (10), Risaralda (8), Huila (6); North of Santander, Cauca and La Guajira (5).

There were also victims in Cartagena, Nariño and Meta (4); Barranquilla, Quindío, Boyacá, Córdoba and Casanare (3); Caldas and Sucre (2); Santa Marta, Magdalena, Arauca, San Andrés, Caquetá and Bolívar (1).

Of these, the youngest to die was a woman in Uribia (La Guajira) who suffered from systemic lupus erythematosus and the oldest was a 97-year-old man in La Jagua de Ibirico (Cesar) with a medical history under study.

Meanwhile, by age, those deaths were distributed like this:
– 0 to 19 years: no person.
– 20 to 29 years: 3 people.
– 30 to 39 years: 8 people.
– 40 to 49 years: 10 people.
– 50 to 59 years: 24 people.
– 60 to 69 years: 48 people.
– 70 to 79 years: 55 people.
– 80 to 89 years: 45 people.
– More than 90 years: 8 people.
