Several testimonies will be collected next week by the National Electoral Council (CNE) in the middle of the preliminary investigation into the alleged irregularities that would have been committed in the financing of President Iván Duque’s campaign in 2018.
Among the testimonies that are expected to be heard is that of María Claudia ‘Caya’ Daza, who until a few months ago was part of the legislative work team of former president and former senator Álvaro Uribe and appears in some audios talking with businessman José Guillermo ‘Ñeñe’ Hernández.
Hernández was a businessman from the Caribbean coast accused of drug trafficking who was murdered in Brazil in May 2019.
In the audios known between ‘Caya’ Daza and ‘Ñeñe’ Hernández, there is talk of alleged money movements that would have helped Duque’s campaign, something that is being investigated by the Electoral Council.

Similarly, the CNE hopes to hear the testimony of Nubia Stella Martínez, director of the Democratic Center, and Luis Guillermo Echeverri, who was manager of Duque’s presidential campaign.
Indeed, Echeverri has given several public explanations of the management of the accounts of that electoral company.
