National government supports the tourist vocation of the Atlantic

Tourism will be promoted as one of the engines of economic reactivation in the department. This was reaffirmed this Tuesday with the signing of the Pact for Tourism in the Atlantic by President Iván Duque and departmental authorities.

During the event, which was held in the Puerto Velero resort (jurisdiction of the municipality of Tubará), the Colombian president stressed that this agreement constitutes a commitment to the future, which points to a comprehensive transformation of the Atlantic territory.

“Tourism represents the new oil for Colombia and, in particular, for the department of Atlántico. These places are not easily available anywhere else in Latin America, connecting the beach, sun, culture, tradition, places for high-scale events and that allow Colombians to be told that there is a treasure to be discovered ”, explained Duque.

The President of the Republic extended the support by the national government to the tourism agenda that has been proposed in the department.

“With this pact the transformation is real and it will open unique opportunities to the mayors of this area of ​​the Atlantic. This is ‘Commitment to Colombia’ and transformation of the territories ”, he indicated.
