There is mourning and dismay in the department of Narino for him murder of a child under 9, who she was intercepted by a subject on her way home with her grandmother, who was also attacked.

The outrageous attack was registered in the municipality of Colón Genova, where the authorities are carrying out search efforts to find the person responsible.

The little girl, only 9 years old, and her grandmother, 72, went out around 2:00 pm to collect grass for the guinea pigs, but when they were on their way back they were intercepted by a man who attacked them, apparently with a blunt object or weapon.

“In an unfortunate event in the Colón Genova municipality, El Llano village, a 9-year-old minor was murdered and the 72-year-old grandmother was injured with blunt weapons,” said Colonel Nelson Dabey Parrado, commander of the Nariño Police.

The governor of the department joined the community’s voice of rejection and outrage at what happened and expressed his solidarity with the families of the victims.

“Our solidarity and condolence. We trust that the authorities will find those responsible,” said Jhon Rojas, governor of Nariño.

The authorities traveled to the area to carry out the corresponding investigations to clarify this crime, as well as those responsible.

“Right now we have a strategic group in this area for the murder of the minor,” Colonel Parrado said.

The grandmother of the murdered girl remains hospitalized and her prognosis is reserved. The youngest was in the 4th grade of primary school.

“We regret the murder of Jenifer Alexandra. We express our deepest condolences to the Ortega Gil family and, in general, to the inhabitants of Colón,” added the governor.
