Nairo Quintana is already sixth overall in the Tour de France after stage 7. The Colombian is 13 seconds behind the leader, the British Adam Yates.
The Colombian spent the day faster than the Tour de France so far (47.54 kilometers per hour on average) and the most complicated due to the wind and cuts in the peloton, which hurt Tadej Pogacar and Mikel Landa.
Nairo Quintana reached the finish line without wasting time and accompanied by his Arkea-Samsic teammate Warren Barguil. The French team did a great job to protect the Colombian and that is why they celebrated as a victory that the beetle continues in the fight for the title.
The Arkea-Samsic shared a video in which he showed Nairo Quintana’s happiness after stage 7 of the Tour de France. He is congratulated by Connor Swift and Kévin Ledanois, the riders of the French team and who protected him all day.
Nairo Quintana, 30, has not been on the Tour de France podium since 2016, the year in which he was third.
