They talk about giving fewer markets to the vulnerable population to recover what was invested in the campaign of Mayor Carlos Ordosgoitia.
The scandal is ignited in Montería by the revelation of alleged WhatsApp conversations that, apparently, would link several councilmen.
They read:
Brother, the poor are used to starving. For a month he will not die. One has to recover the investment campaign as it is.
Brother, that one plays with the quantities, if they give us one of 5,000 markets, one delivers 1,500. Brief.
The conversations were delivered to the journalist Mauricio Castilla, but their veracity is yet to be clarified.
Councilor Luis Carlos López, to whom the alleged number of those chats came from, said that it is “totally false information”.
“On Friday the 24th, at night, I received this supposed chat on WhatsApp networks. Those conversations never existed and never happened, ”he affirmed.
Likewise, he denounced Castilla for libel and slander before the Prosecutor’s Office.
Mayor Carlos Ordosgoitia indicated that he has not been the victim of pressure in exchange for contracts.
“I do not know the origin of those chats. We ask the Prosecutor General’s Office to investigate and the control entities to be doubly attentive to what is happening in Montería, ”he said.
The Córdoba sectional prosecution has not spoken.
