Criminal judge 30 of the Bogotá Circuit, with functions of knowledge, on Tuesday acquitted Freddy Armando Valencia Vargas, better known as the Monster of Monserrate, for the crime of sexual abuse.

In the judgment against the accused, sentenced in 2017 to 36 years in prison for the murder of a dozen women in Bogotá, the togado called the attention of the Prosecutor.

The prosecuting body said, was “careless” because “it did not structure in a complete way the punishable conduct that is judged here since it is insisted that the defendant Valencia Vargas ended the existence of women who did not access their lubricious instincts and the crime of violent carnal access was attributed without even specifying that they were consummated while they were alive. “

The judicial official added that the criminal investigation body tried to prove violent carnal access by pointing out “that the bodies recovered in the Cerro de Monserrate, for the most part, suggested evidence of sexual crimes due to the absence of clothing on the victims. “

The decision was appealed by the Prosecutor’s Office, the Attorney General’s Office and the victims

The so-called Monster of Monserrate, who murdered and buried his victims on the slopes of the emblematic capitalism hill, where he also had a makeshift hut, accepted the murders but not the rapes.

Valencia, detained in the La Picota prison in Bogotá, was captured on December 1, 2015.
