The National Institute of Health confirmed this Saturday the Brazilian variant of Sars-CoV-2 in Colombia.It was found in a 24-year-old woman with dual nationality and who is affiliated with the subsidized regime in Colombia.
The woman, according to the INS, crossed the border the day she sought care and the sample was taken. “He has not stayed a single day more, apart from that in Colombia, in the last 30 days“, he specified.

From this Friday the flights to and from Leticia were suspended as a preventive measure. President Iván Duque said that epidemiological monitoring and control will be carried out during these days.
Air operations are restricted to Leticia for 15 days.

This variant has generated concern because, as confirmed by science, it has a greater transmissibility and could explain the affectation by covid-19 that the Amazon area of Brazil has suffered in recent weeks.
