The union centrals and the confederations of pensioners remain in their proposal that the minimum wage increases to $ 1 million (a 14% increase) and a transportation assistance of $ 120,000.

During today’s session the unions insisted that the motive is to improve purchasing power; They also request that the National Government assume the payroll of micro, small and medium-sized enterprises and that a basic income be adopted for Colombians.

Representatives of businessmen, on the other hand, remain at an increase of 2%. As explained so far, the figure is based on negative productivity, low prospects for inflation and economic growth, and the urgent need to preserve and create jobs.

“The union representatives requested more time to justify their offer and proposed that a new meeting be convened, planned for tomorrow, Friday, December 18, in the morning hours,” reported the Ministry of Labor, who leads the commission.
