Millionaires has received much criticism for everything that is happening with the youth of the institution. From the arrival of an inexperienced foreign defender to the absence of players in the Colombia Under-20 National Team, criticism for the lack of opportunities is increasing.
At a press conference, coach Alberto Gamero spoke about everything related to this situation with young people, highlighting that he currently has eleven Under-23 footballers and that there are others who are practically training because they cannot join the practices due to lack of places .
Regarding the absence of footballers in the Tricolor, he said that: “it seems strange to me and I am analyzing it. The Colombian National Team has its technicians and we do not see a Millionaires player and we are concerned. Millionaires players in grassroots football have to be in a selection. Suddenly they did not have as much time as the players in the teams (Medellin, América, Junior) do not have, we are concerned with this issue ”.
Gamero took out his chest for the youth of Millonarios and although they have not had many minutes, he did express that having them in training helps a lot.
“In training he wins a lot because he has two hours of play. While in a match you will have only 15 minutes. Facing the most experienced ones is a gain and the moment I see that they are there, I will put them on. Here they have a technician who doesn’t shake his hand to put them on, ”he said.
What Gamero did regret is that some young people are not allowed to enter training, so they must be working virtually.
There are two specific cases recently for which they have criticized the directors of Millonarios and the coaching staff, although to a lesser extent.
The first annoyance came from the hiring of Christian Vargas and Cristian Bonilla, as they say that Juan Moreno, who has trained for the last three years with the squad, is being taken away.

“We had Juan Moreno but if two left we had to bring two. I spoke with the three (Moreno, Vargas and Bonilla) and told them that they are going to fight for the position. The day I see Juan Moreno to play I’m going to leave him ”, he explained.
The second controversy came about the hiring of Kaique Ferraz Mafaldo, who will arrive in the next few days. The annoyance arose because being a young foreigner takes away opportunities from other young people.
“We have Guevara and Lucumí, who are U-20s. Paz and Llinás are under-23. In the future we want to have very good central defenders. What I am thinking is that in the future it will have centrals with filming because we do not know how long we will be, but they are the patrimony of the club, “he explained.
At the press conference, Gamero also highlighted players such as Kliver Moreno, Diego Abadía, Juan Camilo García, among others, who could be in the upcoming League matches.
“We are preparing a team of 27 players not a starting eleven and that’s it,” said Gamero with the hope that in the return of football he can give more minutes to his players on the calendar that will surely be very tight.
