Millonarios will face this Saturday a new “final” in Colombian football. In game valid for matchday 15, the Albiazul team receives in El Campín the championship team, Patriotas.
Located in box 16 with 14 units, those led by Alberto Gamero must win or win to continue dreaming of qualifying for the finals of the local tournament. Although the responsibility is enormous, those in charge of keeping the blue on track will, to a large extent, be from the house.
Of the 18 players called up for the duel against Patriotas, nine come from the club’s minor divisions: Juan Moreno, Breiner Paz, Felipe Román, Stiven Vega, Juan Camilo García, Kliver Moreno, Juan Camilo Salazar, Diego Abadía and Emerson Rodríguez.
Román, Vega and Rodríguez are permanent, while García or Kliver will replace Jhon Duque and Salazar will fight with Diego Godoy for another place in the starting XI.
Now, throughout the championship other homegrown players have had action. From this new litter appear Jorge Rengifo, who has already played six games, and Andres Llinás, still without participation. On the other hand, Omar Bertel debuted in 2017 and has almost 50 matches with the first team, as well as Orles Aragón who, despite not having been registered for this tournament, made his debut in 2018 and since then has had 15 participations.
In terms of experience, Mackalister Silva takes all the spotlight. He debuted as a professional in 2005, went to Pereira, returned in 2008, emigrated again seeking new horizons and since 2015 he has been part of the ambassador awnings as a reference.
Another who could enter this extensive list is Ricardo Márquez, who reached the team’s minor divisions in 2015. He spent a year doing the process, but after the departure of the coach at that time, he lost continuity and ended up returning to Santa Marta with the Union Magdalena. For this 2020 he returned and has been a starter since the return of the League.
