Representatives Germán Blanco, of the Conservative Party, and Carlos Ardila, of the Liberal Party, presented a proposal in the Second Committee of the Chamber to advance this political control, considering that the withdrawal of 11 Army officers is not enough.
“The country needs to know details of this new scandal because there are illegal interceptions. Respect for human rights is the only way to the legitimacy of our Military Forces and that is in question today, ”said Ardila.
The summons is addressed to Defense Minister Carlos Holmes Trujillo, the Minister of the Interior, Alicia Arango, and the entire military leadership to try to know what is happening inside the Army.
All the members of the Second Committee of the Chamber agree that this session must be brought forward to know in depth what is happening within that force and what is the purpose of advancing this military espionage.
