Military Criminal Justice will not request jurisdiction of the case for the death of Javier Ordóñez – Crimes – Justice

The process for the death in a case of police brutality in which Javier Ordóñez died will continue in the Attorney General’s Office.

Sources of the Military Criminal Justice indicated that after evaluating the facts it was concluded that the case did not correspond to an act of the service and therefore should be investigated by the ordinary jurisdiction.

This decision prevents the military criminal jurisdiction from filing a collision of powers, which would delay the case as it would have to be resolved by the Disciplinary Chamber of the Superior Council of the Judiciary, which in the best of cases would take several months.
