Mike D’Antoni will no longer be the coach of the Houston Rockets in the NBA

One more year, another season on board and the result was the same: Houston Rockets didn’t make the NBA Finals and they fell even further back into the dream they have called a league championship. After disposal at the hands of Los angeles lakers, the continuity of the coach Mike D’Antoni was on hold.

D’Antoni ended his contract in this NBA season and after the tough loss in five games against the Lakers, the coach decided that he will not stay with the Houston Rockets. As reported Adrian Wojnarowski, NBA whistleblower, the decision not to continue has already been informed by Mike to the team.

“Houston coach Mike D’Antoni is informing the franchise owners today that he he’s becoming a free agent and won’t be returning to the Rockets next season. ” Wojnarowski reported. The famous ‘small ball’ claimed its first weight victim.

For four seasons D’Antoni was the Astros coach with a brand of 217 wins and 102 losses. In that period of time, the Houston team arrived in twice to the Conference semifinals and once they were in the Western Finals.

The great debt of the passage of Mike D’Antoni by the Houston Rockets was an NBA title and the famous style that he tried to impose with the small ball had no the desired results that would at least allow them to reach the Finals.
