Miguel Ángel Borja will continue in Junior. EL HERALDO learned from various reliable sources that the rojiblanco team reached an agreement with Palmeiras to extend the loan of the Cordoba striker for six more months, with a purchase option of 4.3 million dollars for 50% of his economic rights.

According to the Brazilian press, the Barranquilla team will have to accept some conditions imposed by the São Paulo team. ‘El Verdao’ may request the return of Borja in a remote case in which he requires his services or if an offer from another club is presented for 100% of the economic and federative rights of the gunner. That remains to be confirmed. For now it is a version of journalism that covers Palmeiras.

Since last December 17, when Borja announced that he no longer continued in the club of his loves, the rojiblancos leaders began to move looking for alternatives so as not to get rid of the scorer of 20 goals in 36 games during 2020 (14 in the League, one in the Copa Libertadores, four in the Copa Sudamericana and one in the Super League).

After several days of exchanging proposals, tug of war, clauses, fine print, last Wednesday morning an agreement was reached between the Caribbean team and the Brazilian club. For this reason, former mayor Alejandro Char, a member of the family that owns the institution, was encouraged to publish a message on his personal account on Twitter in which he assured that Borja would continue as a ‘shark’.

“The advance gift to the Sharks fans… Borja stays! Thanks Junior for the effort. #Yessepuede, ”Char trilled.

However, the ex-bursar deleted the tweet ten minutes later. The withdrawal of the publication left everyone seeing a spark.

What happened? Alejandro Char decided to cancel the trill because, as often happens in this type of transcendental negotiations, last minute details and ‘buts’ always arise that prevent the deal from being fully closed and secured.

However, everything is settled. Borja will continue in the attack front of the Sharks. Today or tomorrow it must be made official by both clubs.
