Controversy has generated the eviction of 90 homes carried out this Tuesday by the Mayor’s Office of Bello, after the illegal occupation of a lot owned by the Mental Hospital of Antioquia -HOMO.
In social networks, Senator Iván Cepeda and Chamber Representative María José Pizarro criticized in their accounts of Twitter the procedure by the Police and its Mobile Anti-Disruption Squad (Esmad).
In the first instance, it was reported that the Municipality’s Personería was not present in the place, a version that was contradicted by the Municipal Administration with this video in which Bernardo de Jesús García is shown.
Since March 19, 2019, the Mental Hospital of Antioquia filed a
complaint in order to recover a rural lot owned by the institution, which was
busy with illegal construction.
After obtaining the ruling in favor of HOMO, a judge ordered to carry out the processes established by the norm in order to recover the property in 2020.

After the order was issued, the inhabitants of the sector filed two guardianships and
argued that the construction had been going on since 2014, claiming trust
legitimate; but these were ruled in favor of the Municipal Mayor’s Office, since
presented evidence based on images captured by Google Earth.
Through this program it was evidenced that construction began at the end of 2018; to which the guardianship judges distorted the legitimate confidence and the performance of the operation that indicates the return of the property to its owner was endorsed.
“The Administration has carried out the pertinent actions such as characterization and has provided the institutional offer to the occupants,” the Bello Mayor’s Office said in a statement.
To its turn, Daniela Ortega, Secretary of the Government of said municipality, stated that all protocols have been followed.
“Today we are in the sector, however we find resistance but we do the control. For this Mayor’s Office the main thing is to defend the heritage of the Bellanitas, stop the illegal constructions that are affecting the rest of the citizens,” said Ortega.
