An impressive downpour hit the municipalities of the Aburrá Valley on the afternoon of this Friday, October 2.
Between 1:30 and 4 in the afternoon was the most serious period in terms of affectations in Medellín and its neighboring municipalities. According to EPM, more than 40,000 users in El Poblado were left without power due to weather issues. Work is currently underway to restore service.

On the other hand, the Metro reported that there is partial operation on line B, which operates from San Javier to Suramericana. Likewise, the metrocables service is suspended.
The downpour also forced the closure of the Olaya Herrera airport, in Medellín, because the adverse weather conditions, with an electrical storm, prevented the operation.
Data from the Early Warning System (Siata) reported that in a 30-minute storm, more than 43 electrical discharges fell, that is, more than one per minute.
The Administrative Department for Disaster Risk Management (Dagrd) reported that they answered more than 100 calls from citizens during the emergency.
“The balance was 10 cases of falling trees in different areas of the city, a collapse of a metal structure in Robledo, two affected vehicles and four power poles. No injuries were reported so far,” said Alethia Arango, director of the entity.
The roads most affected by the rains were those of El Poblado, Robledo and the city center
