The mayor of Medellín, Daniel Quintero,
announced this Monday that the restrictive measures for the special dates of Christmas and the end of the year will be tightened, This is due to the increase in occupied ICU beds and COVID-19 infections.

There will no longer be a touchdown at dawn but it will be continuous, that is, the restriction will begin to apply between 8:00 p.m. on December 24 until 6:00 a.m. And it is resumed on December 31 from 8:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. on January 2.

In addition, the president assured, the measure of the peak and cedula
in the remainder of December, and from this December 22, it will rule again for even numbers and so on alternately every day.

Another of the restrictions reported by Quintero is that the entrance to the Christmas lights is suspended from this Monday until January 1, as it was one of the points where more crowds were presented.

This announcement occurs when in Medellín there are 3,579 active cases of COVID – 19 of the 136,954 infections that have been reported (56.4% of the department), 2,469 people have died from the virus and the occupancy of ICU beds is at 81.35%.
